This space was created to share more than product updates. It is where we will celebrate the people, organizations, events, and stories that make our community so meaningful.
From new partnerships and upcoming events to behind-the-scenes updates and stories of confidence, creativity, and connection, this blog will help keep you informed about everything happening at The Cybernetic Diabetic.
For our first post, we are looking back at an unforgettable community experience, introducing one of our newest partners, and sharing a few exciting updates about what is ahead.
An Unforgettable Adventure with 1 Sweet Cruise
Our first experience with 1 Sweet Cruise gave us much more than a chance to visit Cozumel, Honduras, Belize, and Costa Maya. It gave us the opportunity to spend meaningful time with families who understand the realities of living with Type 1 diabetes.
What stood out most was how quickly genuine connections formed. Children met others who recognized the devices, routines, and everyday language of diabetes without explanation. That shared understanding created space for them to focus on having fun, exploring, and building friendships.
The same sense of connection extended to the adults. Conversations happened naturally as parents shared experiences, compared perspectives, and supported one another. These moments reinforced how valuable it can be to find a community where both the difficult days and the victories are understood.
We are grateful to Mike and Jennifer Griffin for creating an experience where families can feel welcomed and connected. Their work has developed something that reaches far beyond a single vacation.
We enjoyed the experience so much that we have already reserved our place on the 2027 1 Sweet Cruise to Alaska. We are excited to see familiar faces, welcome new ones, and continue being part of this growing community.
Community Partner Spotlight: Captain Lantus
We are proud to introduce Captain Lantus as one of our newest community partners.
The Captain Lantus book series was inspired by Max, who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 18 months old. By placing diabetes-related experiences within superhero adventures, the stories offer children an encouraging and imaginative way to see courage reflected in characters they can connect with.
The books emphasize that living with Type 1 diabetes does not prevent children from being strong, adventurous, and capable. Beyond the stories, the Captain Lantus website gives families access to additional resources and community support.
This partnership feels like a natural fit for The Cybernetic Diabetic as both brands recognize the importance of representation, encouragement, and helping people feel more confident in the experiences that make them unique.
We look forward to supporting Captain Lantus and sharing more about the work they are doing for children and families within the Type 1 diabetes community.
A New Member of the Cybernetic Family
A new character has officially arrived at The Cybernetic Diabetic—but our cybernetic duck still needs a name.
Throughout July, members of our community have been helping us decide what our newest feathered friend should be called. The voting has been close, and several names are still competing for the top spot.
Voting remains open through July 31st, so there is still time to make your choice and help shape the future of this character.
Our mascot will appear in future stories, videos, announcements, and awareness content. More importantly, the character will help us communicate messages of confidence, creativity, encouragement, and community in a lighthearted and memorable way.
The official name and introduction will be announced after voting closes.
Looking Ahead
This first blog post is only the beginning.
In the months ahead, we will continue sharing community stories, partner features, event updates, new product announcements, awareness content, and behind-the-scenes looks at what we are creating.
We are also looking forward to announcing more information about Inclusion Fest 2026 with I’m|Possible and preparing for our return to the 2027 Abilities Expo – New York Metro.
There is a lot ahead for The Cybernetic Diabetic, and we are excited to bring the community along for the journey.
